An invitation to the Table is life-changing.
When food is scarce and friends are scarcer, it’s hard to imagine a family feast.
But that’s what we are welcoming people into when they come to Reset. We aren’t welcoming them into our perfection. We are inviting them into our mess. The plates are mismatched. The food is a little overcooked. God encounters us there, in the chaos and the brokenness, the dirty dishes and unwashed hands.
Gathering around the Table is about much more than a meal. The Table is a place where we learn and laugh. We grow up and we grow together. We share our lives around the Table. We nourish our bodies and our spirits. We find safety and our needs are met. We all belong at the Table.
When the meal is finished and we leave, we do not leave the Table unchanged. We leave with the support of a family that has seen us at our worst and imagines us at our best.
That’s what an invitation to the Table can do and that’s what we’re doing at Reset.
