meet erich switzer

Reset Ministries welcomes Erich Switzer as our first full-time executive director. Grant and Gary Dawson, Reset’s founders, are delighted that this ministry has grown to this point, thanks to so many volunteer and part-time hours given.

Erich volunteered with Reset for years before coming on staff. Over the years, he took their fundraising at the annual banquet from around $20,000 to $85,000 in 2018. During his years of service, he showed himself to be the right spiritual and physical leader for a faith-based program. He had been the interim director for a while as the board interviewed candidates for the full-time job. When they realized that they had “acres of diamonds” right there in their “own back yard,” they saw that Erich was the best choice.

Erich has had personal experiences that help him understand some of what the residents of Reset are facing. Alcoholism ran in his family and he has lost loved ones due to addiction. He himself began drinking at an early age and is grateful to many people who pulled him out of addiction and toward Jesus.

Erich had no intention of going to college, but after working a year in a factory he realized he could have a better life. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in marketing and operations and got his MBA from Northern Kentucky University. He’s had several jobs along the way, but he is especially excited to combine his talents and interests in this job.

He has been married to Kelly for almost 25 years and their daughter Sidney is a senior in high school. Erich loves sports and excelled in tennis is high school, but a torn Achilles tendon has slowed him down a bit. God changed Erich’s life after college, sending people to him who could help him rebuild his life. These people helped him learn about Jesus, what’s involved in a relationship with God, and how to treat others.

His goal is to share his journey with others and help them to know Jesus. This job is a great opportunity to continue his work for Jesus through service to others.
